although always very artistic, firstly nadja wished to become an architect, but at the time, had to face her father disapproval with her first choice. the episode made her realise that in fact, her future was really in fine arts, as even in infancy, nadja´s teachers at school would be in awe of her drawings that funny enough, used to occupy the back of exam sheets. like so many artists, this was a case of art choosing artist instead of the other way round.

nadja rossato has always been very versatile as an artist, and works with different techniques such as oil, acrylic on canvas, watercolour, porcelain, ceramics and lithography. the various supports have taken her art to many countries, from south america, to europe and asia. one of the highlights of nadja´s career is her individual exhibition at the brazilian embassy in london, one of the most celebrated of all times at the embassy´s art gallery, and also her exhibition at the notting hill arts clubs was of great notice.

after developong a successful career, nadja started a new path that it was to include her daughter. clarissa rossato da cruz, is a former luxury industry executive, who worked in london, for most of her career, and after more than 20 years working with the most important fashion houses and high jewellery houses, turned her hand once more to retail, but now creating objects of every day use, such as mugs and coasters, and also beautiful clothing, using the images of her mother´s exclusive and colourful art works. the brand is called artnadja.

one of the most important moments of nadja´s career, now already working with applied art, is the amazing collaboration with the multitalented debbie wingham, and her sensational runway show in santa monica, los angeles. that, definetly cemented the company´s work in fashion and gave them the determination to take nadja´s art to many more people, which is the main ethos of the business they created.

last but not least, comes art aid, the philantropic arm of artnadja. in order to help the most vulnerable communities of their town, they created masks to be distributed and also exchanged for non-perishable foods, and through those , they were able to change the reality of many families during the pandemic. the campaign is stiill on going.

the pandemic was a huge outlet for nadja´s talent, and a great opportunity for reflexion, as well as inspiration. nadja also likes to observe the different characteres and personas of every day life.

the new year already started with novelties and  a new venture. nadja´s daughter , clarissa is also involved in the film industry and that is where nadja´s work will be shown next.  clarissa, is  an english coach and also assists the art and costume departments for ruschel studios, a brazilian film production company. nadja´s lithography and watercolour work as well as arntnadja costumes will be seen on a brazilian-american production that will hit netflix and amazon in the second half of 2022.
